Step 1: Pick your intensity target
Six intensity targets fit most use cases:
- Microdose — sub-perceptual, daily-life functional, sustained mood and creativity lift across an 8-week protocol.
- Museum dose — mood lift, mild visual texture, fully functional in public, ideal for a gallery or nature walk.

Step 2: Apply the cubensis dose ladder
Baseline dose ladder by dry weight for a standard cubensis strain (Golden Teacher, B+, Mazatapec, Treasure Coast):
- Microdose: 0.05 to 0.25 g.
- Museum dose: 0.25 to 0.75 g.
- Low recreational: 0.75 to 1.5 g.
- Standard recreational: 1.5 to 2.5 g.

Step 3: Adjust for strain potency
Higher-potency strains require a downward adjustment:
- Blue Meanies: reduce baseline by 20 to 25 percent.

A 2 g Golden Teacher dose is roughly equivalent in intensity to a 1 g Penis Envy dose.
Step 4: Adjust for format
Format affects onset speed and slightly affects peak intensity, but the dose math stays the same. Equivalent doses across formats:
- 1 g dried mushrooms = 1 g of equivalent in any pre-dosed format (chocolate, gummies, capsules, beverage, elixir drops).
- Lemon-tek effectively boosts the peak by 25 to 30 percent — reduce your dose by 20 percent if you want the same intensity you would get from chewed dry.
- Chocolate effectively boosts duration by 30 minutes and intensity by 15 to 20 percent — no dose adjustment needed but plan for the longer tail.
Step 5: Adjust for stomach contents
Dosing on an empty stomach produces the sharpest onset and fullest peak. Dosing on a moderate meal shifts the onset 20 to 40 minutes later and softens the peak by 15 to 20 percent. If you cannot dose on a fully empty stomach, dose on a light snack (a piece of fruit, a handful of nuts) — avoid heavy or fatty meals.
Step 6: Adjust for individual sensitivity
