Albino Penis Envy — APE for short — is a phenotypically albino mutation of standard Penis Envy. The fruiting bodies are stark white with a slight blue-grey bruising on damaged tissue, the caps fail to open just like standard Penis Envy, and the potency profile matches Penis Envy at the high end of the cubensis range. What sets APE apart is the famously fast and lucid onset and the unusually short come-down.
Lineage and identification
APE emerged from selective breeding of standard Penis Envy genetics for albino expression. The strain is occasionally sold under regional names (True Albino Penis Envy, APE Revert) but the underlying genetics and potency profile are functionally identical. Visually, APE is unmistakable — pure white fruits with thick stems and unopened bell-shaped caps.
